Welcome to Barreflies - a health/fitness business that I've been running for over a decade and a half.

I was first introduced to Pilates as a way to combat chronic insomnia and found the practice helped me to focus, feel strong and centred. This kindled a belief that self-care is critical to injury recovery, health, and led me to undertake a Physiotherapy degree, which I completed in 2025.

I discovered the concept of fascia movement training through FAMO (formerly Slings Myofascial Training) in 2017. Between 2019 and 2022 I advanced my professional training with FAMO, and it's been so effective that I've incorporated the practice of myofascial training in all of my classes.

I offer a variety of classes/courses to suit different needs and preferences. Classes are typically offered as 'mixed ability', rather than differentiating between experience level. Each movement builds upon the one before, so good form and technique are prioritised such that the most advanced student is not the strongest or most flexible, but rather the one who is able to listen to and embody the core principles of training.

There's no one-size-fits-all for fitness & recovery, so we offer a range of different ways to engage with Barreflies.

Ad-hoc
Group Classes

Fun, flexible Barre or Pilates class with a myofascial twist. Ad-hoc sessions have a changing focus from one session to the next and may vary in pace and intensity according to attendees. Ideal for those with flexible training goals. My most popular offering.

Movement
Courses

A structured, multi-session, progressive course designed around small equipment (rollers, bands, weights, etc) and tailored to the groups' level and goals, varying according to the class type (Pilates/ Strength or Barre) and focused on controlled loading and technique.

Pregnancy
Classes

These are classes to allow pregnant women to prepare for labour, stay in supple condition through the process...and have fun too!

Classes will focus on maintaining fitness during your pregnancy with a mix of light cardio and conditioning work specifically designed for this class.

1:1 Training
Sessions

Personalised 1-to-1 sessions blending Pilates or Barre with myofascial techniques designed around your goals.

The emphasis is defined by you but can relate to alignment, core strength, balance and muscular endurance using the barre, weights and bodyweight to build control and support everyday movement.

My Mixed Ability Class Approach

I offer a variety of classes to suit different needs and preferences. Classes are typically offered as 'mixed ability' open to all levels, rather than differentiating between experience level.

 

Because each movement builds upon the one before, good form and technique are prioritised so the most advanced student is not necessarily the strongest or most flexible, but rather someone who is able to listen to and embody the core principles of training. Variations, adaptations and modifications are offered to suit every participant dependent on the given movement.
