Hi, I am Amanda Carey, Chartered Physiotherapist, BSc, MCSP and I'm happy to welcome you to "The Curious Physio" website - the online portal for my new physiotherapy practice in Brighton.
I've been involved in helping people recover from injuries for over a decade, with my Pilates and Barre workshops. I was first introduced to Pilates as a way to combat chronic insomnia and found the practice helped me to focus, feel strong and centred. This kindled a belief that self-care is critical to injury recovery, health, and led me to making wellbeing central to my Pilates practice. To that end, I have advanced my professional training over time to include Fascia Movement (FASO/ATiM) and a full Physiotherapy qualification.

Physiotherapy: hands-on or hands-off?
The jury is out as to whether a patient has more benefit from active or passive treatment or the combination of “hands-off” (active therapies) where the patient is empowered to self-manage their condition through exercise and lifestyle choices and “hands-on” (i.e., passive treatments such as massage) in which patients do not actively contribute to the therapy. The Curious Physio aims to combine the best modalities for the individual, but most likely exercise, goal-setting and self-monitoring will be at the heart of treatment.
WHAT ARE YOU AFTER TODAY?
Today I am offering both physio sessions and sports massage sessions to patients, please select one of the options below to make a booking or, if you're not ready, to learn a little more about my offerings.
