This a new category of classes at Barreflies - targeted specifically at mothers-to-be (typically from 14 weeks onward depending on the individual pregnancy).
These pregnancy-safe classes are designed specifically for expectant mothers, adapting movement for each trimester and common pregnancy changes. Sessions focus on strength, mobility, posture, and breath—without pushing intensity—so you feel supported, capable, and comfortable as your body evolves.
Pilates and barre build deep core and pelvic-floor awareness, strengthen glutes and upper back, and improve alignment to help counter the everyday demands of pregnancy. Many women notice better posture, reduced back and hip discomfort, improved balance, and more confidence with day-to-day movement.
Myofascial work and gentle release techniques help ease tightness in areas that often feel stressed in pregnancy—hips, lower back, ribcage, and shoulders—supporting smoother mobility and a calmer nervous system. The results are often a lighter, less “compressed” feeling, better sleep, and more freedom of movement.
Together, these classes can support stamina, circulation, and body awareness that carries into labour and recovery. Regular participation commonly leads to feeling stronger and more stable, moving with less ache and tension, and having practical strategies—breathing, active lengthening, strengthening, and release—to manage discomfort throughout pregnancy and beyond.
We're only offering one class today, but will expand the offering as demand increases, and it's bookable for one class at a time, if you just want to try us out. If you're coming back for more than one class, you should buy one of our Flexi-passes - these are the best option for frequent users, providing a nice discount to our normal pricing.
